We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Adult Psychiatrist to join our team at Kent & Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to lead our Community Mental Health Team and contribute to delivering high-quality care to patients in need.



About the Role

This full-time permanent position offers a competitive salary of £105,000 per annum, plus benefits, including a generous annual leave entitlement and access to the NHS pension scheme. As a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing medical input to patients under the care of our Community Mental Health Team and attending CPAs for enhanced patients. You will also participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and whole mental health service.



Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide Medical Input: Offer expert medical advice and guidance to patients under the care of our Community Mental Health Team.
  • Attend CPAs: Participate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessments for enhanced patients and provide urgent assessment/advice as required.
  • Service Planning: Actively participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and whole mental health service.
  • Team Leadership: Lead our cohesive team of nurses, OTs, Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners in delivering high-quality care.
  • Professional Development: Manage, appraise, and give professional supervision to junior medical staff, contributing to their growth and development within the Trust.
  • Research and Quality Improvement: Engage in research and quality improvement activities, ensuring the highest standards of care and contributing to the development of new approaches and services.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A degree in medicine or equivalent qualification is essential, along with registered membership with the General Medical Council (GMC).
