Job Title: Engineering Metrology Specialist

The Instrumentation Calibration Services department at BAE Systems is responsible for calibration, maintenance, managed collection, storage, and delivery of test & measurement equipment to support the Barrow site & external commercial customers. Our team is seeking a skilled Engineering Metrology Specialist to join us on this exciting journey.

About the Role:
  1. As an Engineering Metrology Specialist, you will be responsible for calibration, maintenance, and repair of test and measurement equipment in line with programme and commercial requirements.
  2. You will work closely with subject matter experts and experienced professionals to support and provide advice to all build teams on critical measurement activities to ensure equipment meets specification.
  3. You will utilize cutting-edge metrology hardware and software, providing opportunities to develop automation of equipment and laboratory standards.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to rotate across various placements within the calibration laboratory and cross-skill between mechanical, dimensional, and electrical calibration sub-parameters. You will spend the first year of your apprenticeship at college developing a basic understanding of engineering, health & safety, and quality.
