Calibration Expert Required

We are seeking a highly skilled Precision Metrology Engineer to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness, UK. As a Precision Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our electrical test and measurement equipment.

Estimated Salary: £42,000+ per annum, depending on skills and experience.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for performing complex calibrations and repairs on a wide variety of electrical test and measurement equipment (TMDE). You will also work closely with technical stakeholders to ensure accurate measurements and deliver targeted training to team members and apprentices/graduates.

A strong understanding of quality systems and standards is essential for this role, as well as relevant academic qualifications such as a STEM degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex calibrations and repairs on TMDE equipment
  • Work closely with technical stakeholders to ensure accurate measurements
  • Deliver targeted training to team members and apprentices/graduates
  • Write and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Essential Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a precision electrical calibration laboratory environment
  • Understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001)
  • Relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
