Job Role: Senior Metrology Specialist


Department: Calibration Department


Location: Barrow-In-Furness


Job Summary:



  • Perform high-level calibration and repair of Mechanical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
  • Supervise calibration workload and manage resource allocation.
  • Develop and review calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets.
  • Participate in UKAS (ISO 17025) audits and achieve UKAS signatory status.
  • Deliver on-the-job training to apprentices and team members.

Requirements:



  • Extensive experience in precision metrology laboratory environments.
  • Understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025, ISO 9001).
  • Relevant academic qualifications (STEM Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent).

About the Team:


The calibration department supports 30,000 pieces of equipment per year, ranging from analogue to digital systems. ICS Mechanical focuses on the calibration of TMDE capable of making pressure, mass, torque, and force measurements.
