Job Overview

Our Submarine Safety Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of our nuclear powered submarines. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires expertise in radiation physics and shielding.

Salary

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £90,000 - £120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Description

As a key member of our Radiation Physics & Shielding team, you will be responsible for conducting radiological safety studies for several other areas, design novel radiation detectors and developing capability in the field of radiation damage to electronics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant STEM degree in Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Nuclear Engineering
  • Demonstrable experience of radiation transport codes such as MCNP/MCBEND/Attilla
  • Understanding of radiation physics
  • Experience of radiation safety studies & behaviours
  • Experience of radiation metrology
  • Knowledge of the ALARP principle
