At BAE Systems, we are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team in Barrow-In-Furness. As a key member of our Safety & Environmental Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our submarines.

This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a pension scheme, annual leave allowance, and share incentive plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake HAZID/HAZAN assessments and contribute to design modifications to ensure safety from internal hazards;
  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal hazard safety at design review meetings and peer reviewer;
  • Develop safety case reports and undertake risk assessments and ALARP assessments;
  • Liaise with engineering stakeholders and develop internal hazard safety processes and risk management strategies;

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline;
  • Essential: Safety Engineering knowledge or experience gained from systems safety, process safety, technical safety, product safety, nuclear safety, or safety case areas;
  • Desirable: Experience in naval maritime safety case development or maintenance, quantitative and qualitative risk assessment techniques, and safety Engineering experience in high-hazard industries;
