We are seeking a highly skilled Submarine Radiological Safety Expert to join our team responsible for the design and validation of radiation shielding for the UK's nuclear powered submarine fleet.

This is a challenging role that requires expertise in radiation physics, transport codes, and safety studies. You will be working with our team to design and validate radiation shielding for the submarine fleet, as well as conducting radiological safety studies for other areas.

As a Submarine Radiological Safety Expert, you will have significant experience in supervising and conducting analysis and experiments to support system qualification, including producing and reviewing radiological safety justifications for proposed design solutions. You will also have strong leadership skills and be able to lead detailed shield design and development teams.

The successful candidate will have a relevant STEM degree in Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Nuclear Engineering and demonstrable experience of radiation transport codes such as MCNP/MCBEND/Attilla. They will also have knowledge of the ALARP principle and experience of radiation safety studies & behaviours.

The estimated salary for this role is around £70,000-£100,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance, and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
