Resident Engagement Coordinator

About the Job:In this role, the incumbent will implement best practices in the supervision, security, and treatment of juveniles in a correctional setting to create a safe environment conducive to growth and change. The incumbent will oversee the daily facilitation and implementation of the Facility-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (FW-PBIS) program, including resident incentives and access to activities. The incumbent will manage the operations of the facility incentive room and coordinate various facility-wide activities to support the FW-PBIS framework.
Core Responsibilities:- Prepare and secure the Incentive Unit for use by eligible residents
- Follow the incentive area operations checklist, including opening/closing, supervising residents, reviewing behavioral expectations, collecting data, ensuring security and safety by providing sight and direct supervision to residents engaging in incentives activities and programmatic offerings
- Document resident behavior according to the established procedure by keeping daily records and reports, with no instances of failure to document incidents involving breaches of security or life-threatening situations
- Intervene in behavioral crises to ensure safety using de-escalation strategies and techniques
- Prior experience facilitating group sessions with adolescents in direct care settings (e.g., group home, detention center, or non-secure residential setting)
- Utilizes evidence-based strategies to engage residents and motivate desired performance
- A background in youth development, criminal justice, or the social sciences, including a degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field
