At Brightpoint Community College, we are seeking a highly skilled Academic Resource Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our campus library.

The successful candidate will lead the public service team, providing circulation services, answering technology questions, and managing the information desk. They will work extensively one-on-one with students and faculty both in person and online.

This key position is responsible for coordinating the circulation of library materials and maintaining the library's collections. The coordinator will also recruit, train, and manage the work of student assistants, as well as participate in the training of other team members.

A crucial aspect of this role is collecting data about library usage, updating documentation, and contributing suggestions for ensuring library services contribute to student success.

The Academic Resource Coordinator will work closely with the library director and librarians to plan, implement, and market library programs, engagement activities, and instructional workshops. They will also support general college activities as requested, which may include some evenings or weekends.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with the general public in a library, archive, or museum setting
  • Strong commitment to excellent customer service to a diverse college population
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively, efficiently, and independently in a highly technological and team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to welcome change and adapt to new situations
  • SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION AND PASSING OF A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Community college experience, either as a student or staff member
  • Experience in academic libraries and with automated library systems such as Alma, OCLC, LibGuides, and remote work applications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
