Business Development Specialist

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Specialist to join our client, a leading foodservice company in the Southwest. As a key member of their sales team, you will be responsible for managing your own accounts within a designated territory, selling and promoting their broad range of food and catering related products to the foodservice industry.

The successful candidate will have a proven background in sales, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to identify and understand buyer needs. They will be target driven, with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets, and possess good geographical knowledge of Poole, Bournemouth and surrounding areas.

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include 20 days holiday + bank Holidays, increasing to 25 days with length of service, and access to an Employee Health Assured Program (EAP).

About the Company

Our client is one of the largest independent foodservice companies in the Southwest, supplying a full range of frozen, chilled, and ambient foods together with an extensive range of non-food catering products.

Job Description

This is a field-based position, requiring a Full UK Driving licence and the ability to travel extensively within the designated territory. The successful candidate will be expected to work alone with minimum supervision, and must be self-motivated and ambitious with a desire to deliver results.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to build strong relationships with existing and potential clients. A passion for food sales and knowledge of the catering industry would be desirable.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven background in sales, preferably in the foodservice industry
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to identify and understand buyer needs
  • Target driven, with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Good geographical knowledge of Poole, Bournemouth and surrounding areas
  • Fully competent in MS Office
  • Full, UK Driving licence
