About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our Tax Management team, focusing on tax risk, governance, and controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing the team's vision, ensuring that our tax governance and controls are delivered on time, in line with HMRC requirements, and free from errors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop a robust internal tax governance framework to support the tax team in managing tax risk, ensuring compliance with the Code of Practice on Taxation for Banks, the Senior Accounting Officer Regime, and supporting HMRC's Business Risk Review process.
  • Develop and maintain the external Tax Strategy and internal Tax Policy, as well as being responsible for the operation and development of the Senior Accounting Officer regime process, Tax Judgement Forum, Tax Risk Register, and other tax governance processes.
  • Be the primary point of contact for colleagues in Internal Audit and Financial Controls Testing for tax-related matters and work closely with Risk Partners.
  • Cover ad-hoc projects, coordination, and reporting on behalf of the tax team for wider Finance governance, process, data, and control activities.
About You

We are looking for a qualified accountant and/or qualified tax professional with proven tax experience across a range of tax disciplines. You should have experience in operating and developing tax governance and control frameworks, as well as experience in the Senior Accounting Officer regime. You should also be able to display stakeholder management and relationship building skills, at all levels of the organisation.
