Base Materials is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Whetstone, UK. As a key member of our Production Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment, performing routine maintenance tasks, and responding to equipment faults.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out routine scheduled maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
- Use diagnostic and fault-finding methods to establish root cause and repair plant and equipment
- Provide training to operators to enable them to perform routine basic maintenance activities
- Participate in training programmes to stay updated with new technologies and best practices in maintenance engineering
- Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance issues and improve overall efficiencies
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
- Manage external contractors while on site
- Assist with new plant builds and installations across the sites
- Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or qualification
- Industrial or manufacturing background
- Electrical and mechanical training/experience within an industrial setting
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
- Competitive salary of up to £40k per annum
- Shift premium of £10 per day
- Overtime rates apply weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays
- 33 days annual leave
- Contributory pension scheme
