Program Manager Role Overview

Role: Program Manager (Senior Leadership)

Reporting to: Program Director (with deputising responsibilities)

Locations: Glasgow, Abbeywood, MoD Main Building (frequent travel)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction, guidance, and coaching on program management.
  • Ensure performance monitoring and promote compliance with established standards.
  • Ensure adherence to mandatory training and professional development requirements.

Programme Management:

  • Monitor program progress, clarify objectives, and integrate activities to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Resolve issues and improve delivery performance through effective problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Report on program performance, including time, cost, quality, and safety metrics.
  • Contribute to budget planning, financial cycles, and approvals.
  • Ensure effective use of program management tools and techniques to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Organizer: Effective workload management and prioritization.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of design intent for electrical infrastructure in high-hazard industries, preferably nuclear.
  • Leading virtual teams across functional, organizational, or geographic boundaries.
  • Relevant Project and Programme Management qualifications.
  • Commitment to learning and using established project management methodologies.
