Job Overview

The successful candidate will oversee the execution of all project goals and ensure the delivery of essential outcomes, while providing comprehensive professional and organizational assistance to the Principal Investigator.

This role encompasses management of all project functions; conducting research and preparing reports and presentations; engaging with key internal and external stakeholders; and independently managing critical elements of project execution.

The individual will report directly to the Principal Investigator and will be situated within the Information Studies department.

Key Responsibilities 1.

To strategize and implement effective operational support for the administration and management of the AHRC-funded project, ensuring that project milestones and deliverables are met in collaboration with partners and stakeholders.

2.

Assist the Principal Investigator and project management team in overseeing the overall development, execution, and progress of the project to guarantee successful outcomes.

3. Maintain the comprehensive project timeline, making updates as necessary, and ensuring alignment with the Risk Register. 4.

Establish and nurture effective communication channels to facilitate the smooth flow of information and foster strong relationships among project partners and key stakeholders, including organizing and coordinating relevant meetings.

5.

Proactively plan and organize the development of project activities and workshops, monitoring their implementation by project partners and collaborators.

6. Act as the primary liaison for all project partner relationships, serving as the first point of contact for external partners and collaborating organizations, including new partners contributing content and expertise as needed. 7. Oversee the execution of the project's engagement and dissemination strategy. 8. Organize outreach and impact events. 9. Manage project reporting, coordinating and participating in regular project review meetings, including monthly workstream reports and annual evaluations, and supporting project closure. 10. Provide specialized advice and assistance for all inquiries related to the project. 11.

Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and project management team to organize and manage financial and business processes, ensuring all project components adhere to their projected budgets and key performance indicators.

12. Monitor and manage budget allocation and expenditures. 13. Deliver management information, forecasting, and analysis to support project, school, college, and university objectives. 14.

Assist the Principal Investigator and project management team in the creation and maintenance of the project risk register, GANTT chart, action logs, etc., to support the overall project.

15.

Lead the management of knowledge generated by the project and support the development of the impact and innovation pipeline related to the project.

16.

Identify and implement opportunities to enhance administrative systems, processes, and procedures to improve project delivery management.

17. Perform any other relevant project management support tasks as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Essential: A1 Demonstrated competencies necessary for this level of position, having acquired the requisite knowledge and skills in similar or various roles.

Or:

Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9, or equivalent, including professional accreditation with relevant formal training, and experience in similar or related roles. A2 Proven project management experience and expertise.

A3 Understanding of data integrity and its significance.

Desirable: B1 Postgraduate degree or qualification in a related field.
B2 Familiarity with the Higher Education research landscape and large-scale research grant management.
B3 Understanding of grant application processes, including budgeting and funder guidelines.
B4 Knowledge of the regulatory framework governing research in a specific academic area.

B5 Understanding of administrative and support systems essential for project management, including process design, systematic improvement, and monitoring.

This position is full-time and fixed-term.
