Program Implementer, Provincial Preschool Autism Services Opportunity

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Program Implementer to join our Provincial Preschool Autism Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and coordinating programs and services for preschoolers with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and coordinate programs and services for preschoolers with autism
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide person and family-centred services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families and community partners
  • Provide education and support to families and health professionals
  • Participate in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Child and Youth Studies
  • Recent experience working with young children with developmental disabilities, specifically children with autism
  • Post-Secondary Behavioral Interventions Certificate or Diploma preferred
  • Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months
  • Certification in First Aid
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to family centered care
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal teaming skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team in a variety of settings
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective change agent with good team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to accept and use constructive criticism for personal and professional growth
  • Demonstrated observation and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in use of office technology
  • Valid minimal Class 5 Nova Scotia driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle daily
  • Competencies in other languages an asset
