Job Purpose:

As an HR Advisor with Kingsgate Recruitment Ltd, you will be working 15 hours per week to provide expert advice and representation to members in relation to employment terms and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent members at disciplinary, capability, and grievance investigations, hearings, and appeals.
  • Prepare, manage, and record casework accurately and timely, ensuring all records are up-to-date and filed appropriately.
  • Provide information, advice, and support to members on work-related issues, such as disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, and performance impairment plans.
  • Maintain good communication with members and the Branch Committee, responding promptly to new enquiries and reacting in a timely and professional manner.
  • Jointly with other branch staff, take responsibility for branch administration, including responding to member queries and participating in organizing branch AGMs.
  • Liaise with the Branch Secretary and regional office on complex cases, obtaining advice and support as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Recruit new members by encouraging them to be more involved in the Kingston Branch.
  • Attend Council and employer staff induction days to recruit new members.
  • Advise, support, and mentor stewards and workplace representatives with casework.
  • Develop good working relationships with employers and managers, engaging and negotiating with them on casework.
  • Work closely with the Branch to achieve its organizing aims and objectives.
  • Participate in relevant training to maintain trade union accreditation.
  • Communicate information about your work as required by the Branch Secretary and administrative staff.
Reporting Requirements:

Attend branch committee meetings once a month, providing verbal, written, or presentation reports on work undertaken or in progress.
