Job Purpose:

As an HR Advisor with Kingsgate Recruitment Ltd, you will be working 15 hours per week to provide expert advice and representation to members in relation to employment terms and conditions. This will involve working with individuals and groups of members in various sectors, including private, community, and education settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent members at disciplinary, capability, and grievance investigations, hearings, and appeals.
  • Prepare, manage, and record casework accurately and timely, ensuring all records are up-to-date and compliant with data protection legislation.
  • Provide information, advice, and support to members on work-related issues, such as disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, and performance impairment plans.
  • Maintain effective communication with members and the Branch Committee, responding promptly to new enquiries and reacting in a timely and professional manner.
  • Contribute to branch administration, including responding to member queries, checking the branch inbox, and participating in organizing the annual AGM.
  • Liaise with the Branch Secretary and regional office on complex cases, obtaining advice and support as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Recruit new members by encouraging them to get involved in the Kingston Branch and attending Council and employer staff induction days.
  • Support, organize, and mentor stewards and workplace representatives with casework.
  • Develop good working relationships with employers and managers, engaging and negotiating on casework.
  • Work closely with the Branch to achieve its organizing aims and objectives.
  • Participate in relevant training to maintain trade union accreditation.
  • Communicate work updates to the Branch Secretary and administrative staff.
Requirements:

As an HR Advisor, you will be required to attend branch committee meetings once a month, providing verbal, written, or presentation reports on your work and progress.
