About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estate Services Officer to join our Estates team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of gardeners and cleaners across multiple housing schemes in Barnsley, Rotherham, and Sheffield.

Your primary focus will be on delivering and maintaining an excellent level of cleaning, gardening, and grounds services. You will work closely with the Estates & Grounds Maintenance Manager to ensure that all services are delivered in line with agreed budgets and in compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and PPE legislation.

You will be responsible for facilitating and scheduling of the estates services, liaising with customers on site to identify service improvements, and ensuring the reporting of repairs, fly tipping, graffiti, and safeguarding alerts. Additionally, you will monitor the stock and supply of all allocated equipment, confirming compliance checks are in place to ensure safety of use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience of leading and managing remote working teams and staff members, including strong performance management skills.
  • Track record of working to agreed standards, specifications, and timescales.
  • Experience of delivering high-quality estate services, including grounds maintenance, gardening, and compliance activities.
  • Direct experience of working with customers and customer feedback in a service delivery environment.
  • Understanding and knowledge of compliance processes and relevant Health and Safety legislation, e.g., COSHH, PPE, RIDDOR.
  • Experience of budget management, cost control, and stock management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A good level of IT knowledge, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Able to demonstrate Guinness behaviors.
  • Hold a current full UK driving license.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of delivering services, taking into account Health & Safety legislation and compliance processes, including COSHH, PPE, and RIDDOR.
  • An understanding of the workings of service charges.
  • Understanding of how to use mobile working devices, like smartphones or tablets.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Horticulture NVQ, BTEC, or relevant professional qualification.
  • Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Certification.
