About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estate Services Officer to join our Estates team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of gardeners and cleaners across multiple housing schemes in Barnsley, Rotherham, and Sheffield.

Your primary focus will be on delivering and maintaining an excellent level of cleaning, gardening, and grounds services. You will work closely with the Estates & Grounds Maintenance Manager to ensure that all services are delivered in line with agreed budgets and in compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and PPE legislation.

You will be responsible for facilitating and scheduling of the estates services, liaising with customers on site to identify service improvements, and ensuring the reporting of repairs, fly tipping, graffiti, and safeguarding alerts. Additionally, you will monitor the stock and supply of allocated equipment, including vehicles and materials, and confirm compliance checks to ensure safety of use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of gardeners and cleaners to deliver exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Work closely with the Estates & Grounds Maintenance Manager to ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and PPE legislation.
  • Facilitate and schedule estates services to meet agreed budgets and standards.
  • Liaise with customers on site to identify service improvements and ensure reporting of repairs and other issues.
  • Monitor stock and supply of allocated equipment and confirm compliance checks to ensure safety of use.

Requirements

  • Strong track record of leading and managing remote working teams and staff members.
  • Experience of working to agreed standards, specifications, and timescales.
  • Direct experience of working with customers and customer feedback in a service delivery environment.
  • Understanding and knowledge of compliance processes and relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  • Experience of budget management, cost control, and stock management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to demonstrate Guinness Behaviours.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of delivering services in line with Health & Safety legislation and compliance processes.
  • Understanding of service charges and mobile working devices.
  • Horticulture NVQ, BTEC, or relevant professional qualification.
