About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estates Manager to join our team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As an Estates Manager, you will be responsible for providing effective operational estates management services to our hospital estates portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the day-to-day planning and delivery of operational and maintenance functions, primarily for engineering, services, and buildings.
  • Manage the in-house maintenance team and specialist contractors or service providers to provide a normal hours service and out-of-hours emergency service.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, advisory, compliance, financial, and service delivery frameworks.
  • Develop and implement contingency and business continuity strategies and processes to ensure the smooth running of the service in the event of major disruption or disaster.
  • Manage budgets, ordering of supplies/equipment, and processing of staff timesheets.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Education to degree level, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Building Services.
    • Experience in a management position of the operational management of a large estate, including building fabric, building services, and associated engineering systems and equipment.
    • Extensive experience in electrical/mechanical or building services engineering.
  • Desirable:
    • NHS Estates experience.
    • Experience in managing health and safety in an organizational setting.
    • Achieving best value in procurement of projects and contracts, and the planning and delivery of cost improvement programs.
