About the Role

The Advice Team at Solace Women's Aid provides a specialist proactive service to survivors of Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) through our advice line, covering 16 boroughs of London. This involves ongoing liaison with partner agencies and internal and external services, and supporting survivors, professionals, and third parties with complex issues at all stages of risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on our advice line providing one-off short-term support to survivors, third parties, and professionals.
  • Hold a small caseload completing longer-term casework.
  • Participate in the rota to cover the phone line and respond to emails and referrals.
  • Work co-operatively with other services, including housing, immigration, children's services, community organisations, etc., to ensure the service is well promoted and women's support needs are met.
  • Carry out risk and needs assessments, safety planning, and individual support planning with survivors, as well as advocating on their behalf with external agencies and providing in-depth case work.
About You

You will have a passion for working with survivors of gender-based violence and a thorough understanding of its impact on women and their children. You will be experienced in organising and prioritising a complex workload, working to tight deadlines, and being self-directed. You will have the skills to identify and assess risk, problem-solve, and communicate clearly, concisely, and diplomatically with a range of people/organisations both verbally and in writing.
