Nucleus Legal Advice Centre is a leading provider of specialist debt, housing, and benefits advice. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our dynamic team as a Housing Advice Caseworker.

As a Housing Advice Caseworker, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice and support to clients facing eviction or homelessness. Your primary responsibility will be to assist clients in accessing suitable accommodation, preventing homelessness, and resolving housing-related issues.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of housing law, debt, and benefits advice. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement effective solutions to complex housing issues.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in providing specialist housing advice to tenants facing eviction or homelessness. You will also have a proven track record of working with clients from diverse backgrounds and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

As a Housing Advice Caseworker, you will be responsible for providing casework services, representing clients in court, and collaborating with statutory and non-profit organizations to resolve housing issues. You will also be required to maintain accurate records, participate in training and development opportunities, and contribute to the development of the Nucleus website and other communication systems.

Duties:

  1. Provide specialist housing advice and casework services to clients.
  2. Represent clients in court and at appeal tribunals.
  3. Collaborate with statutory and non-profit organizations to resolve housing issues.
  4. Maintain accurate records and participate in training and development opportunities.
  5. Contribute to the development of the Nucleus website and other communication systems.

Person Specification:

  1. At least 1 year of experience in providing specialist housing advice to tenants facing eviction or homelessness.
  2. Strong understanding of housing law, debt, and benefits advice.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  5. Commitment to social justice and equal opportunities for all.

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, excluding lunch.

Salary: £29.5 - £32.5K per annum.
