Medical Secretary

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Medical Secretary to join our ENT Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to our ENT specialists, ensuring the smooth operation of our department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care by responding to enquiries, providing routine and non-routine information, and resolving problems in a timely and professional manner.
- Update our patient administration system (PAS) in accordance with Trust guidelines, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Assist the Administration and Clerical team with data management, utilizing our departmental patient databases.
- Provide flexible cover and support to secretarial colleagues, ensuring the department operates optimally to meet the needs of our service.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to work effectively in a pressurized environment. You will have a good general standard of literacy and numeracy, and be willing to undertake additional training to carry out the duties required.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- RSA III or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology/AMSPAR qualification
- Previous digital/audio typing experience
