Cambridge University is at the forefront of climate change research, and we're seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Process Modelling PhD student. You'll work alongside renowned researchers in the Department of Engineering and Chemistry to develop innovative solutions for direct air capture.

Our research focuses on creating efficient and sustainable processes for removing CO2 from the atmosphere. We're exploring novel materials and methods to capture carbon dioxide, with a particular emphasis on energy efficiency.

As a PhD student, you'll investigate the following key areas:

  • Energy savings with new carbon sponges
  • Efficient operation of direct air capture processes
  • Sensitivity of direct air capture costs to sponge properties
  • Sensitivity of direct air capture costs to environmental conditions

You'll benefit from a 4-year studentship, including fees and maintenance, and the opportunity to work with experienced supervisors. Estimated salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per year.
