Carbon Capture Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Carbon Capture Researcher to join the University of Cambridge, where you will work on direct air capture technology. This project focuses on developing novel carbon sponges that can efficiently remove CO2 from the atmosphere.
The successful candidate will be part of a team working on process modeling and optimization, aiming to answer critical questions about the energy and cost savings of new carbon sponges compared to existing approaches. You will also investigate the feasibility of operating direct air capture processes using waste heat or electricity for sponge regeneration.
This PhD studentship is 4 years in length and includes fees and maintenance for eligible students. We offer a competitive salary of £18,000 - £24,000 per annum, depending on experience. To be eligible, applicants should have a good 2.1 degree in Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
