Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Project Engineer to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-profile projects that transform the transportation landscape.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned engineer with expertise in railway systems and project delivery. You will be responsible for managing small project engineering teams, ensuring successful project outcomes, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the delivery of projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget execution.
  • Team Leadership: Manage small project engineering teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure team members excel in their roles.
  • Design Review: Conduct thorough design reviews to ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards, and Network Rail company requirements.
  • Problem-Solving: Utilize strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues, drawing on lessons learned from other projects.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience: Proven experience working in E&P disciplines, including LV Distribution, HV Distribution, and SCADA expertise as specialist subdisciplines.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to discharge Network Rail's CDM duties, and experience with Designated Project Engineer (DPE) and Project Engineer (PE) roles.
  • Qualifications: Ability to review and check designs for compliance with legislation, Railway Group, and Network Rail company standards.
