Job Description: Railway Telecommunications Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Railway Telecommunications Engineer to join our team and work on a high-profile rail project focused on renewing Wi-Fi hardware across all stations nationwide. This is a great opportunity to work on a major infrastructure project, ensuring seamless connectivity for passengers throughout the country.

About the Role:
  • Manage and coordinate the installation, testing, and commissioning of new Wi-Fi hardware at rail stations.
  • Evaluate and ensure all telecoms works adhere to rail industry standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the client, contractors, and technical teams.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings and risk assessments.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
  • Supervise site activities and manage contractors during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support during the project lifecycle.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a telecoms project management or CRE role, ideally within the rail or similar infrastructure sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of telecoms systems, specifically Wi-Fi hardware and installation.
  • Experience managing large-scale telecoms or IT infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with rail industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to manage and lead multi-disciplinary teams on-site.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
