Position Overview

This role is integral to the operational readiness of the Ministry of Defence's marine capabilities. As a key member of a dedicated team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and servicing of tactical watercraft, ensuring that they meet the high standards required for both training and operational missions.

Key Responsibilities

The Marine Craft Maintenance Specialist will:

  • Utilize all available resources efficiently, actively seeking opportunities for enhancements and improvements within the operational framework.
  • Ensure compliance with all directives regarding equipment management, including maintenance, issuance, and documentation, in alignment with established protocols.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current regulations governing marine operations to guarantee adherence to safety and operational standards.
  • Proactively manage inventory by anticipating needs and ordering necessary components to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Conduct regular audits of equipment and supplies, promptly addressing any discrepancies in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Ensure that all deployed equipment is accompanied by the necessary documentation as mandated by legislation.
  • Complete all required training to remain compliant with Ministry of Defence standards.

  • A strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team, adapting to a dynamic work environment.
  • Hands-on experience in practical maintenance roles, demonstrating technical aptitude and a willingness to engage in continuous learning.
  • The capacity to thrive in a fast-paced setting, managing multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Basic proficiency in written English, mathematics, and IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.

Essential Qualifications

  • Ability to integrate seamlessly into a diverse workforce.
  • Commitment to undertaking necessary training, including specialized courses as required.
  • A valid UK driving license (Cat B) for operational duties.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiarity with small boat workshop environments and equipment manuals.
