About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Marine Engineer/Technician to join our team at the All-Weather Lifeboat Centre in Poole, Dorset. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the refit and repair of existing All Weather Lifeboats, including modification, repair/maintenance, vessel strip down and assembly, and diagnostics of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake refit/repair of existing All Weather Lifeboats, including modification, repair/maintenance, vessel strip down and assembly, and diagnostics of mechanical systems.
  • Work in conjunction with other members of the ALC to ensure tasks are completed in a structured and professional manner.
  • Ensure that lifeboats are built and refitted on time and within budget, meeting the RNLI's stringent quality standards.

Requirements

  • Relevant City and Guilds or NVQ level 3/BTEC qualifications, time served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience of boat production, marine refits, and repairs, laminating and working with epoxy composite materials is desirable.
