About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing highly specialised clinical health psychology pathways for patients living with cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical health psychology pathways for patients living with cancer, in line with NICE guidelines and Core Standards.
  • Provide training and support to MDT colleagues in delivering psychologically informed care and facilitating Level 2 psychological skills.
  • Contribute to the implementation, development, and evaluation of the service, working closely with the consultant clinical psychologist, MDT colleagues, and key stakeholders.
  • Provide clinical supervision to MDT teams, ensuring high standards of psychological practice.
  • Facilitate triage meetings and offer consultation, supervision, and support to clinical psychologists and medical professionals.
  • Contribute to routine research, audit, and evaluation of the project, working closely with the consultant clinical psychologist and MDT colleagues.
Person Specification
  • Registered with the regulatory body (e.g. BABPC or HCPC).
  • Clinical or Counselling Psychologist HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist or Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with completed appropriate training in CBT therapy.
  • Further training or experience in the specialist field.
  • Prepared to undertake a substantial post-qualification training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, and/or other fields of applied psychological interventions.
  • Post-qualification training in evidence-based therapies (e.g. Mental Health Nurse, Practitioner Psychologist, or Mental Health Social Worker).
  • Leadership training or qualification.
