Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Home Acquisition Specialist to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the appointment of a Home Purchase and Acquisitions Officer on a 3-month contract, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Implementation: Assist in operating the Council's policy on rehousing assistance for homeowners affected by regeneration, contributing to and developing procedures to manage and engage with homeowners, addressing their concerns and seeking solutions to difficulties they may face in relocating.
  • Financial Assessments: Develop and follow procedures and systems covering financial assessments for customers to determine their affordability in relation to regeneration rehousing and the Council's discretionary purchase schemes.
  • End-to-End Processes: Manage end-to-end processes of the Council's Cash Incentive schemes, enabling secure tenants to purchase homes on the open market, and the processes of the shared equity equity loan and social home buy schemes, and stair casing of shared ownership.
  • Shared Ownership Collections: Manage shared ownership collections portfolio, adhering to the Debt Recovery Protocol.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise as appropriate with customers and their representatives, other Council departments, the courts and tribunals, and professional bodies, representing the Council's interests and ensuring that the Council's financial and fiduciary position is maintained.

Requirements:

  • Legislative Knowledge: Awareness of the governing legislation relating to leasehold management, including the Leasehold Reform & Urban Development Act 1993, Landlord & Tenant Acts, and Housing Acts.
  • Home Purchase Schemes: Knowledge of the range of home purchase schemes that support tenants into homeownership.
  • Regeneration Experience: Experience of working with and supporting residents who require rehousing, ideally on regeneration schemes.
  • Workload Management: Experience of managing a multi-faceted workload and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.

  • This role requires a basic DBS.
