Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented IT Operations Assistant to join our dynamic IT Operations Team. As an IT Operations Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of professional, proactive customer-focused services to our patients and staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administration and coordination within IT Operations, utilizing Techshop and the ITSM system. This will include planning hardware and software installations, providing IT support to customers, and assisting with license requirements and staff support within the IT Operations Department.

Main Duties
  • Administer the purchasing of new IT hardware and software, including processing user requests, creating purchase requisitions, confirming deliveries, and processing invoices.
  • Manage and plan own workload within set parameters provided by the team leader or manager of the area with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure the logistical requirements of IT equipment are maintained, including orders, site and location, and required equipment, to ensure efficiency of installations for planned and unplanned work.
  • Deliver and install IT equipment that requires minimal technical setup, such as mice, keyboards, headsets, cameras, monitors, or equipment that has been previously configured by a member of the IT Operations Team.
  • Attend team discussions and meetings in support of service delivery.
  • Assist with providing on-job training, supported by SOPs, for new starters or current team members to maximize knowledge and enhance individual and team performance.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • 5 GCSE grades A to C or equivalent, including Maths and English.
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or Computer.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Admin or Customer Service or recognized equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
