Cancer Care Administrative Coordinator

Position Overview
The primary objective of this role is to deliver a high-caliber administrative support service to the ProActive Cancer Team, which specializes in providing tailored prehabilitation and rehabilitation services for individuals impacted by cancer.
Key Responsibilities
The main duties involve assisting the Allied Health Professional (AHP) team, which includes Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists, in an administrative capacity. This includes managing patient flow by coordinating and scheduling outpatient appointments that facilitate exercise interventions during the pre-operative and post-operative phases of the patient's care journey.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will oversee one Band 3 Administrative and Clerical staff member, ensuring the effective coordination of daily tasks to achieve service key performance indicators. Responsibilities include booking urgent new patient appointments, routine follow-ups, and rescheduling as necessary, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of patient flow.
This role is suited for an individual with exceptional communication skills, characterized by articulateness, helpfulness, and confidence. A proactive attitude, professionalism, and courtesy are essential attributes for success in this position.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Minimum of GCSE level education
- Demonstrated commitment to Continued Professional Development

- RSA 1 & 2 typing qualifications
Work Experience

- Proficient in using Windows-based software, including Excel and Outlook
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and implement proactive solutions
- Experience in a junior supervisory role

- Experience collaborating with various levels of seniority within the NHS

- Familiarity with Careflow, EDMS, and ICE systems
