About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Property Lawyer to join our team at CDH Recruitment Ltd. As a Property Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in managing a caseload of conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion, registration, and closure of files.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conveyancing Transaction Management: Manage a day-to-day caseload of conveyancing transactions, including all aspects of the transaction from instruction to completion, registration, and closure of files.
  • Client Communication: Take instructions from clients and third parties, and communicate effectively with them to ensure a smooth transaction process.
  • Document Preparation: Draft legal documents, including standard precedent letters, contract packs, exchange letters, freehold AP1s, and freeform letters.
  • Post-Completion Works: Prepare and send applications to the Land Registry, Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions, file closures, and check account ledgers.
  • Team Support: Provide support to conveyancers and property lawyers due to holiday or sickness, and assist with tasks assigned to you.
  • Task Management: Deal with tasks assigned to you, recognizing when a task becomes complicated and referring it back to the conveyancer for risk assessment and resolution.
  • Communication and Reporting: Update conveyancers and the team on completed work or tasks, and explain reasons for inability to complete tasks.
  • Team Meetings and Appraisals: Attend team meetings and regular appraisals, including annual performance reviews and monthly one-to-ones.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English with a minimum grade C, and A-level or equivalent in Maths and English with a minimum grade C.
  • Experience and Skills: Relevant experience in conveyancing or property law, excellent communication and time management skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Personal Qualities: Positive attitude, flexible approach, professional work ethic, and ability to work well in a team.
Working Hours and Benefits
  • Working Hours: Core hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break, and the office is open between 8:00am and 7:00pm Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4:30pm on Saturday, and 10:00am to 3:30pm on Sunday.
  • Working Hours and Rota: You will be required to work 5 days and no more than 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis, including evening and Saturday working.
  • Holidays and Bank Holidays: Up to 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
