About the Role:

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our client's team in Ely, Cambridgeshire. As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 8-18 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage and support young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age and individual needs.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment in the residential home, promoting a sense of community and well-being among residents.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage challenging behaviours, ensuring the physical and emotional safety of young people.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, social workers, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support to young people, including their care plans, guidelines, and preferred methods of communication.
  • Support young people in developing their independence and life skills, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioural growth.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a residential setting or healthcare/social care environment.
  • Ability to commute to Ely, Cambridgeshire, and possess a full UK manual driver's licence.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality support and care to young people with EBD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
