Swansea, City and County of Swansea, United Kingdom Swansea Bay University Health Board Full time

Position Overview

We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional in pediatric nutrition to become a vital member of our team. This role includes new funding aimed at enhancing services that support the neonatal team, with a particular focus on the neonatal outreach service. Additionally, you will collaborate with a team that assists children requiring enteral tube feeding, addressing faltering growth, providing oral nutrition support, and managing various clinical conditions that affect the nutritional well-being of young individuals.

This is a permanent, full-time position. The primary location will be within the Health Board, with responsibilities extending to community visits as necessary.

Position Details

We seek an enthusiastic nutrition specialist with outstanding communication abilities. Our team maintains strong collaborative relationships with pediatricians, community nurses, health visitors, specialist nurses, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.

You will leverage your experience in managing cases involving infants and children who require enteral tube feeding and oral feeding, ensuring a high standard of assessment and management. While experience with preterm infants is preferred, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training and support will be provided.

You will also be responsible for mentoring and supervising junior staff members, including student dietitians and support personnel, delegating tasks as appropriate while ensuring consistent support.

We are committed to your professional development, offering both departmental and personal continuing professional development (CPD) time to enhance your skills and share best practices. Our department is dedicated to evidence-based practice, research, and clinical audits, and you will have opportunities to attend relevant professional networking events, interest groups, and CPD activities, along with annual performance reviews.

Our administrative staff and Dietetic Assistants provide excellent support. The Health Board holds University status, with Colleges of Medicine located on-site.
