Position Overview
We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a dedicated professional in pediatric nutrition to become a vital member of our team. This role involves new funding aimed at enhancing services that support the neonatal team, especially focusing on the neonatal outreach program. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assist children requiring enteral tube feeding, managing faltering growth, providing oral nutrition support, and addressing various clinical conditions that affect the nutritional well-being of young individuals.
Employment Details
This is a permanent, full-time position. The primary workplace will be within our healthcare facilities, with responsibilities extending across the Health Board, including community visits as necessary.
Role Classification
This position is available as an Annex 21 role for candidates who may not possess full qualifications, offering a pathway to a trainee position under the NHS Wales Annex 21 guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
We seek an enthusiastic nutrition specialist with outstanding communication abilities. Our team collaborates closely with pediatricians, community nurses, health visitors, and various allied health professionals.
Your expertise in managing cases involving infants and children receiving enteral tube feeding and oral nutrition will be essential. You will autonomously oversee your caseload, ensuring high standards of assessment and management. While experience with preterm infants is advantageous, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training and support will be provided.
You will also play a crucial role in mentoring junior staff members, including student dietitians and support personnel, delegating tasks appropriately while providing necessary guidance.

Our department values evidence-based practice, research, and clinical audits, and we encourage participation in relevant professional networking events and CPD opportunities, along with annual performance reviews.
Our administrative staff and Dietetic Assistants provide excellent support. The Health Board holds University status, with Colleges of Medicine located on-site.
