London, Greater London, United Kingdom Known Source Full time
Job Description

About Us:

Known Source is a pioneering platform dedicated to connecting curated second-hand fashion dealers. Our mission is to simplify the discovery of quality apparel and extend its lifecycle. We envision a world where every garment experiences multiple lives.

We are currently at a pivotal moment in our evolution. With the recent re-launch of our website, we are excited to announce our upcoming free year-long presence in a prominent retail space. This represents a significant opportunity for growth and visibility for our brand.

Our retail location will feature a diverse array of items sourced from our network of suppliers, whom we refer to as our dealers. Each dealer is a distinguished independent second-hand fashion retailer, offering a wide variety of styles. From vintage Jean Paul Gaultier to classic Levi's 501s and technical Stone Island pieces, our store will showcase a unique assortment of one-of-a-kind products.

For this reason, we are seeking an Inventory Manager to become an integral part of our dedicated team and to spearhead our stock management strategy.

Job Summary:

This role is centered on overseeing and enhancing inventory levels, ensuring precision, and maintaining effective inventory systems. Responsibilities include collaborating with team members to track stock levels, manage stock arrivals, prepare and label inventory, and occasionally fulfill online orders. You will also be tasked with establishing inventory control protocols to maximize stockroom efficiency. Given the uniqueness of our business model, a creative mindset is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine inventory management strategies to sustain optimal stock levels.
  • Supervise daily inventory activities, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials.
  • Regularly assess inventory levels and conduct audits.
  • Collaborate with our dealer network to anticipate demand and plan inventory requirements.
  • Examine inventory and sales data to uncover trends, discrepancies, and areas for enhancement.
  • Establish and uphold inventory control practices to improve efficiency and utilize stockroom space effectively.
  • Leverage inventory management software to monitor and report on inventory metrics.
  • Guide and mentor shop-floor personnel, offering support and direction as necessary.
  • Quickly address and resolve inventory discrepancies and challenges.
  • Oversee order fulfillment for in-store items purchased online.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Inventory Manager or in a comparable position.
  • Strong grasp of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software (preferably Shopify POS).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to inventory management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in inventory management or supply chain.
  • Experience in the second-hand fashion sector.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Opportunities for professional development.
  • Significant potential for career advancement.
  • A supportive and collaborative workplace culture.

Why Apply:

We are looking for driven individuals who aspire to be part of our dynamic team as we scale. The success of our retail operation hinges on the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management, so we seek highly organized, efficient, and innovative professionals. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, are passionate about second-hand fashion, and wish to make a meaningful impact in the fashion industry, this role is designed for you.

How to Apply:

If you are enthusiastic about sustainable fashion and possess the skills to excel in a dynamic retail setting, we invite you to express your interest. Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter detailing your fit for the Inventory Manager position at Known Source.

Known Source is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all employees.
