London, Greater London, United Kingdom Known Source Full time
Job Overview

Company Background:

Known Source is a pioneering platform dedicated to the curation of second-hand fashion dealers. Our mission is to facilitate the discovery of high-quality clothing and extend its lifecycle. We envision a world where every garment experiences multiple journeys.

We are currently at a pivotal moment in our evolution, having recently revamped our online presence and preparing for an exciting new venture.

Our retail space will feature a diverse selection of items sourced from our community of suppliers, whom we refer to as our dealers. Each dealer is a distinguished independent second-hand fashion entity, offering a wide array of styles, from iconic Jean Paul Gaultier pieces to classic Levi's 501s and innovative Stone Island apparel. This ensures our store is filled with a unique assortment of exclusive products.

Consequently, we are in search of an Inventory Manager to become an integral part of our dedicated team, serving as the cornerstone of our inventory strategy.

Position Summary:

The primary focus of this role is to manage and enhance inventory levels, ensuring precision and maintaining effective inventory systems. This includes collaborating with various team members to oversee stock levels, manage stock arrivals, prepare and label products, and occasionally fulfill online orders. You will also be tasked with implementing inventory control measures to maximize the efficiency of our storage area. Given the uniqueness of our model, a creative mindset is essential.

Key Duties:

  • Develop and refine inventory management strategies to uphold optimal stock levels.
  • Supervise daily inventory functions, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials.
  • Regularly assess inventory levels and conduct audits.
  • Collaborate with our dealer network to anticipate demand and strategize inventory requirements.
  • Examine inventory and sales data to pinpoint trends, discrepancies, and areas for enhancement.
  • Establish and uphold inventory control protocols to boost efficiency and optimize storage space.
  • Utilize inventory management software to monitor and report on inventory metrics.
  • Train and oversee shop-floor personnel, offering guidance and support as necessary.
  • Promptly address and resolve inventory discrepancies and challenges.
  • Lead the fulfillment of in-store items purchased online.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Inventory Manager or in a comparable role.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (preferably Shopify POS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to inventory management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in inventory management or supply chain.
  • Experience in the second-hand fashion sector.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Opportunities for professional development.
  • Significant potential for career advancement.
  • A supportive and collaborative workplace culture.

Why Consider This Role:

We seek motivated individuals who aspire to be part of our dynamic team as we scale our operations. The success of our retail space hinges on the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management, so we are looking for highly organized, efficient, and innovative candidates. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, are passionate about second-hand fashion, and wish to make a meaningful impact in the fashion industry, this position may be the right fit for you.

Application Process:

If you are enthusiastic about sustainable fashion and possess the skills to excel in a dynamic retail setting, we invite you to submit your resume along with a brief cover letter outlining your suitability for the Inventory Manager position.

Known Source is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all employees.
