Our Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) initiative ensures secure assessments for aspiring drivers under the Department of Transport. With over 70 testing locations, we facilitate more than 1.7 million Driving Theory Tests annually across various regions.

We provide the necessary infrastructure and processes to evaluate each candidate's theoretical driving knowledge and hazard perception skills, ensuring the integrity and compliance of every test according to DVSA standards.

Role Overview

The primary aim of the Lead Test Centre Coordinator position is to foster a positive environment for candidates visiting the testing facility. You will oversee the efficient operation of the test centre, ensuring it is fully prepared and that our team delivers a high-quality, compliant service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Verifying candidates' identification and managing their registration in the system.
  2. Supervising and monitoring the testing process.
  3. Executing site opening and/or closing protocols.
  4. Mentoring and guiding Test Centre Associates.
  5. Assessing the test centre schedule to determine candidate bookings and organizing any special accommodations needed.
  6. Informing the DVSA HR team of staff absences to facilitate alternative arrangements.
  7. Providing support to the Test Centre Manager as necessary.
  8. Managing and documenting incidents that may affect candidate testing in accordance with our incident management guidelines.

Work Schedule

The Lead Test Centre Coordinator role offers a flexible work schedule (part-time or occasional shifts) with opportunities for additional hours based on your availability.

Shifts may include:

  1. Mornings - 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM/2:00 PM.
  2. Afternoons - 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM/6:30 PM.
  3. Full days - 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM/6:30 PM.
  4. Evenings - 4:30 PM/5:00 PM to 8:30 PM/9:30 PM.
  5. Afternoon & Evenings - 12:00 PM/1:00 PM to 8:30 PM/9:30 PM.

This facility operates 6 to 7 days a week, with availability required on all operating days, including occasional evenings.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  1. Proven experience in leading or supervising a team.
  2. A valid UK driving license is required due to the nature of the role (driving may not be necessary for all locations).

  4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  5. Flexibility in working hours and days, including evenings and weekends.
