Position Overview

We are excited to announce an opportunity to become a part of the Prehabilitation Team within our innovative service. This is a pivotal moment for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, and we are seeking forward-thinking individuals at various levels to assist in the rapid development of our services aimed at empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential across physical, cognitive, social, and psychological dimensions.

This role is offered on a fixed-term basis due to funding considerations. Candidates interested in this position should ensure they have the necessary approvals from their current supervisors before proceeding with their application.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative spirit and recognize the significance of engaging clinical teams as essential contributors to service enhancement. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of professionals, including Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech and Language Therapists, to deliver targeted clinical and therapeutic interventions. Additionally, you will liaise with broader multidisciplinary teams and community organizations to support individuals affected by cancer throughout their journey from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Familiarity with health protocols relevant to the role.
  • NVQ Level 3 in a related field, or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Clear understanding of the roles of Allied Health Professionals, including Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching or structured educational programs.
  • NVQ Level 4 in a relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of cancer care through training or practical experience.
  • Qualification or progress towards CanRehab Level 4 in Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation.

Experience

  • Background in NHS or social care settings.

  • Experience in managing workload and caseload effectively.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with cancer patients.
