Job Description

Role Summary

The University of South Wales is seeking a Wellbeing Adviser to provide student appointments and support. The successful candidate will work closely with students, staff, and the Wellbeing Service to promote mental health awareness and provide expert advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students through initial assessments, signposting, and referrals within the Wellbeing Service.
  • Assist in promoting mental health awareness among university staff and students.
  • Provide expert advice and support to staff working with students with mental health difficulties.
  • Collaborate with the Wellbeing Service to develop and implement mental health initiatives.

Requirements

  • HE qualification or equivalent.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CPN, Counselling, BA/BScSW or equivalent).
  • Significant relevant experience as a professional mental health practitioner in an education or community-based setting.
  • Understanding of the difficulties facing students with mental health conditions in a Higher Education context.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time, fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will work on campus for part of the week, with flexible working arrangements to be discussed.
