About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As an Advanced Biomedical Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in the development of our immunocytochemistry and molecular service, providing expert advice and interpretation of laboratory investigations to healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex examinations of clinical specimens, interpreting results and providing expert advice to healthcare professionals.
  • Lead on teaching, training, and developing staff in the designated field, ensuring adequate levels of consumable supplies and other items required by the section.
  • Employ specialist knowledge and technical skills to perform complex analytical techniques and procedures, prioritizing and working to deadlines.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Service Manager as required, performing any other duties covered by the post holder's competencies.
Requirements
  • HCPC registration and a Master's degree or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years post-registration experience, with a significant part in immunocytochemistry and quality control.
  • Evidence of team building and leadership skills, advanced skills in technical processes, and participation in QMS activities.
