About the Role

We are seeking a highly accomplished scientist with a research profile of international standing to join the Leicester Cancer Research Centre, within the Department of Genetics and Genome Biology.

The successful candidate will conduct high-quality research and teaching in the field of cancer immunology and prevention, focusing on developing agents that prevent cancer and understanding the mechanisms underlying their effects.

This appointment is part of a major commitment by the University to research into cancer and will have a key role in the new Personalised Cancer Prevention and Treatment Theme within our NIHR funded Biomedical Research Centre.

The candidate will also undertake teaching and administrative duties at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the College of Life Sciences, supporting modules and taught postgraduate courses in Cancer Molecular Pathology and Therapeutics and/or Clinical Sciences.

About You

We are looking for an established researcher with a high-quality publication profile in cancer immunology or more general immunology, with a strong interest in cancer and potentially fundable research ideas.

The ideal candidate will have experience of research in cancer prevention or a willingness to apply their skills and expertise to this area of research.

They will also have a collaborative attitude to research and a willingness to work as part of a team, whilst also developing an independent research programme.

Excellent networking skills are essential, which will be used to seek out opportunities for collaboration and citizenship, both internally and externally.
