Position Overview

The Alternative Fleet Time Docking Capability (AFTDC) division is a specialized team within ASSYSTEM, dedicated to ensuring that program execution is seamlessly aligned with operational readiness. This alignment is crucial for delivering a safe, secure, and efficient docking and engineering support capability.

The Planning Manager is tasked with the development, maintenance, and communication of the AFTDC Plan to the operational base. This role serves as the primary planning liaison with program planners, ensuring that the integrated plan encompasses key milestones, critical deadlines, and interdependencies that are accurately captured, agreed upon, and integrated into the Base Integrated Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer interface for integrated planning and risk management activities.
  • Analyze integrated plans and risks from an operational perspective, challenging discrepancies and assisting in the identification of opportunities and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct integrated planning reviews, ensuring that schedules and plans are comprehensive, precise, and feasible.
  • Engage with planning and risk stakeholders to assess the impact of program activities on the overall plan, providing feedback to program planners regarding any implications.
  • Facilitate the identification of risks and opportunities between the operational base and program, including aiding in the formulation of mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with risk leads to perform risk assessments, ensuring accurate risk capture without duplication.
  • Monitor and report on the status of mitigation actions to ensure effective management.
  • Submit precise plans for inclusion in the base Integrated Plan by established deadlines.
  • Support the team in developing plans and delivering progress reports to the Delivery Sponsor.
  • Lead initiatives that align with the objectives of the AFTDC.
  • Represent AFTDC in meetings and working groups related to program planning and risk activities.
  • Communicate with various departments and external entities on behalf of AFTDC as necessary.
  • Provide updates and progress reports in relevant meetings.
Qualifications

Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office 365, including Project.

Extensive experience in risk management.

APM qualification is preferred.

Additional Information

This position supports hybrid working arrangements, with a requirement for in-office presence as needed.

Open to UK nationals only, with security clearance required to commence work.
