Position Overview

The Alternative Fleet Time Docking Capability (AFTDC) division is a specialized team within the ASSYSTEM organization. This team is dedicated to ensuring that program execution is seamlessly integrated with base readiness, facilitating a safe, secure, and efficient docking and engineering support capability.

The Planning Manager is tasked with the development, maintenance, and communication of the AFTDC Plan within the base. This role serves as the primary planning liaison with program planners, ensuring that the integrated plan captures key milestones, critical dates, and interdependencies, all of which must be agreed upon and delivered into the Base Integrated Plan.

This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including Planning and Risk Managers, to identify risks, potential mitigations, and opportunities. The Planning Manager will generate schedules and concise reports that support informed decision-making and add clarity and value to the program.


Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the capability customer and interface for program integrated planning and risk activities.
  • Analyze integrated plans and risks from a base perspective, challenging discrepancies and assisting in the development of opportunities and mitigation actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct integrated planning reviews, ensuring that schedules and plans are robust, accurate, and realistic.
  • Engage with planning and risk stakeholders to assess the impact of program activities on the overall plan, providing feedback to the program planner regarding impacts.
  • Support the identification of risks and opportunities between the base and program, including assisting in the formulation of mitigation plans.
  • Work closely with risk leads to conduct risk reviews, ensuring accurate risk capture without duplication.
  • Monitor and report on the status of mitigation actions to ensure effective management.
  • Submit precise plans for inclusion in the base Integrated Plan by agreed deadlines.
  • Assist the team in developing plans and providing progress reports to the Delivery Sponsor.
  • Lead initiatives to achieve objectives effectively.
  • Represent AFTDC in meetings and working groups related to program planning and risk activities.
  • Communicate with other departments, private sector companies, consultants, or contractors on behalf of AFTDC as necessary.
  • Provide updates and progress reports at relevant meetings.

Qualifications
  • Proficient in Primavera P6.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office 365, including Project.
  • Strong background in Risk Management.
  • APM Qualified.
