About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Supplier Manager to join our Systems Design Team at BAE Systems. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the software design activities of external suppliers to ensure they meet customer requirements and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the FESS subsystem design artefacts provided by external suppliers
  • Investigate problems related to supplier subsystem designs and provide solutions
  • Support the integration of new capabilities into the FESS
  • Create and review documentation for the wider FESS team and customers
  • Configure supplier-provided software for successful application builds
  • Maintain familiarity with current tools and software products used within the team
  • Manage time effectively to meet tight programme timescales
Requirements
  • Strong engineering background
  • Experience in system and software application design and architecture principles
  • Understanding of modelling techniques and tools (UML, Enterprise Architect, XML/XSD)
  • Experience with requirements analysis, elaboration, and management tools (Rational DOORS)
  • Experience with configuration and version control tools (Rational ClearCase, Git)
  • HNC/HND in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with database technologies (Oracle, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience with software application builds and deployment
