Job Overview

Position: Air Traffic Engineer

Location: On-site at Warton

Compensation: £47,683 – £52,426 (based on qualifications and experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting routine inspections to verify the operational status of all systems
  • Notifying Air Traffic Control of any identified malfunctions during inspections
  • Executing necessary fault repairs as required
  • Completing regular maintenance tasks
  • Participating in project initiatives as needed
  • Ensuring all relevant documentation is accurately completed
  • Maintaining current competency levels

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Engineering qualifications at HNC level or equivalent
  • Experience with equipment such as Instrument Landing Systems, Distance Measuring Equipment, Primary and Secondary Surveillance Radar, Non-Directional Beacons, Direction Finders, Radio Transmitters and Receivers, and Voice Communication Control Systems
  • Proficiency in fault diagnosis and repair, along with familiarity with telecommunications testing tools

Desirable:

  • Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, with expertise in networking and data communications

About the Air Traffic Engineering Team:

Join our skilled team as an Air Traffic Engineer at Warton Aerodrome, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Air Navigation Service Provision infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior Air Traffic Engineer, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of military and civil aviation activities. Your responsibilities will include maintaining facilities and equipment while ensuring compliance with internal, statutory, and regulatory standards.
