We are currently seeking a Pension Administration Specialist to enhance our pension administration Client Services team.

Essential Duties:

  • Work autonomously and collaboratively on projects to deliver accurate and efficient solutions.
  • Adapt to changing standards and tools within the industry.
  • Review pension plan documents to ensure accuracy in complex pension calculations.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of relevant pension legislation across various jurisdictions.
  • Prepare annual statements for plan participants and calculate necessary pension adjustments.
  • Conduct peer reviews of year-end processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Identify issues affecting accuracy and propose process enhancements.
  • Provide training and guidance to client teams as a subject matter expert.
  • Analyze regulatory summaries to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Uphold Mercer Professional Standards throughout all processes.
  • Mentor junior team members to foster their development.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in administering defined benefit pension plans.
  • Familiarity with multiple legislative jurisdictions is preferred.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Basic understanding of actuarial principles and a degree in mathematics, administration, or a related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
