Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled practitioner to join our team as a Critical Care Outreach Practitioner. We are seeking an individual with significant experience in acute or critical care environments to apply for this role.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will utilize their specialist knowledge and skills to assist in the delivery of the Critical Care Outreach Service. This will involve prioritizing the needs of patients at risk of clinical deterioration or those who are deteriorating, and ensuring they receive appropriate assessment, intervention, and ongoing management.

Key Duties
  • Assist in the development and delivery of education to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills required to detect patients developing a critical illness and respond appropriately using a physiological track and trigger system.
  • Support and improve services for patients in ward areas who are at risk of deteriorating and may require admission to level 2 or 3 critical care areas.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Consultant in Critical Care to ensure the delivery of high-standard quality patient care.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Registered Healthcare Qualification
  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in Healthcare
  • Clinical/physical assessment skills course or working towards

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Recognised Acute/Critical Care course or working towards
  • ALS provider

The successful candidate will also demonstrate:

  • Evidence of specialist knowledge in the management of acutely ill patients
  • Evidence of diverse specialist knowledge as the service covers all areas of the hospital
  • National strategic policies in Critical Care Outreach Services
